(AKA...What We're Pretty Proud Of):
All our tiny homes are built to code. Both the National Building Code of Canada and the Nova Scotia Building Codes now have sections dedicated to Tiny Homes. We have a great relationship with our local building inspectors and refer to them as required. (One thing to note is that if a tiny house is built on wheels NONE of the rules apply. Make sure to ask if the builder followed building codes in it's construction.)
We are committed to providing small homes that are actually livable for the long-term. Our tiny homes are 10- 12' in width, and we will build up to 36' long. Larger footprints than these are possible, but require additional engineering and are more complicated to move and set up. So, as a rule, we prefer not to build anything larger than 12'W x 36'L.
All our tiny homes are built to be low maintenance and high quality. Steel roofing and siding, vinyl windows, locally milled and dried pine lumber products, durable flooring options, and Benjamin Moore paints for our interiors are just a few of the things we are excited to employ in our tiny homes.
Because our tinies are built to code we make sure every one passes inspections at every phase of construction. Sycamore Tiny Homes are built to ensure you get your occupancy permit, allowing for NS Power connection, and full cooperation from your municipal inspectors.
